How It Works – FDR with Cement / Stabilizers

“Now we use the Zipper and do full-depth reclamation (FDR) with a cement and lime mixture. Water is added with a water truck and it is all mixed together with a grader. After compaction the street is left to cure for a couple of days. Finally sealcoat is applied as the wearing course. This isn’t just a surface treatment, it’s full-depth and we saved 48% of what it would have cost to do a surface treatment. I expect these new streets will last at least 10-15 years.”
